My favorite is a memory quilt made for a friend with pictures of his grandchildren.

I made a bear's paw quilt for my nephew in the late 90's. I used the richest golds and warm browns with a fabulous bear print. The best part of all was seeing his face when he opened it!

For me it would have to be the memory quilt I made for my younger brother after my oldest brother died. It had pictures of the stone carving my older brother had done and some pictures of the 2 of them working on stones. He asked if it was possible to make a quilt like that, then forgot about it. Almost a year later I discovered the ink jet printer fabric and made the quilt. When I gave it to him, we both cried.

The 4 embroidered ABC baby quilts that each took 1 year to do and the one I've been working on since 2007 - a West of Baltimore (sort of - I made changes). I'm lovin' it.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope making that quilt will give you some comfort.
