What is your least favorite part of quilting?

The hand quilting if I have to do it. The larger ones I have been giving to a professional quilter, but she's gone now and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I have 2 quilts ready to be quilted and with my hands hurting so bad with arthritis I just don't know what to do. They were going to be Christmas gifts, but that's unlikely now.

I STRONGLY dislike making and sewing on binding. I had wrist surgery in 2003 which left my wrist only able to bend a little bit. Hand sewing is difficult for me. I'd rather chew tin foil or shave my head with a cheese grater!!

I love making the blocks, then as eack blocks connects to the next...
Least favorite is making the sandwich, basting or pin all the layers. Have lately been sending my tops out. (However, that always makes me feel disconnected from the quilt as "I" didn't finish it.)

I would have to say the binding, not the making of the binding, however sewing the binding by hand at the end! I find that to be the longest and part and makes it feel like a job!

You must be "Fun Sized"...I was picturing someone on tippy toes working on her project and then got down to the pot holder and mug rug part..very short. :-)

I don't iron until I'm ready to use it? Why? B/C I have to iron again when I get it out of the shelf for use. Why twice? Sure there is more air in it until I press it but then I don't always press the entire piece, just a little more than I need for the job. HIH
