I am wondering what the difference is between the Baby Go, Sizzix and Cricut? Is one better than the other or does one offer more dies, prices and so on, or is it just preference? I am looking into to buying a Baby Go, I mainly want alphabets, I saw that they had an alphabet die for around 800.00, which is more than I can afford. Can someone help me make my mind up? Decisions decisions.

I have the Accuquilt Go. (not the baby go) and I love it.
There are many dies to choose from for a reasonable price.
I never heard of one costing $800.
You can find great deals on E-bay for new ones or even
on sewing things for sale. I use mine all the time and have
accumulated the ones I use most.
I don't think you would regret buying one. It saves sooooo
much time and everything is accurate.

maybe its the whole alphabet? I dont know I dont have any of them but thats the only thing I could think of why it would cost 800

I dont have any of the machines but I purchased a cardboard alphabet set from The Dollar Tree from the teachers/school section for a dollar...I use them as templates for any letters I need...works great and I saved $799

I have the GO and the most I have ever paid for a die is $80.00
I think you have more variety with the Accuquilt line than the others.It is geared to Quilters.

The Go baby is a die cutter machine. The die is hidden in the foam of the die block. When you layer the fabric and the pad on top, you roll it through the Go baby. The pressure as it rolls through pushes the fabric against the die blades so it can cut.
The sizzix system is the same except it was originally designed for scrapbooking. Whether the dies are interchangeable with the accuquilt system, I don't know.
The Cricut and Slice systems work in a different manner. The fabric is held tight on a sticky pad. The pad rolls through the machine. Inside the machine the cutting knife moves to cut out the shapes. It is computer driven while the others are not.
As far as I know, Cricut doesn't have the quilting specific dies like HST's, strips, etc.
There is a new Slice on the market that is being marketed for quilters. I do not know if it differs from the scrapbooking Slice. The slice is more portable, and can go cordless. It works by attaching the fabric to a sticky glass mat. You put the machine on top and the moving knife cuts out the pattern, the fabric does not go into the machine.

Price wise, low to high, is (i think) Sizzix, Go baby, Slice, Cricut.
With all you have to consider the cost of dies or with the computerized ones -cartridges and replacement knives, adhesive mats etc.

I have an old Sizzix. A Sizzix is a die cutting machine. It can cut fabric as well as paper.
A Cricut is a machine that cuts the paper out, kind of like a computer in that you put a module in and have a tremendous selection in each module. You can change sizes of anything, alphabets, pics of birds,or what ever.
I am not familiar with the baby go.

With a Sizzix you have to buy each of the dies indiviually, they can't change sizes. But they can cut more than one piece of paper at a time. If you are looking to scrapbook the Cricut seems to have more bang for the buck.

I have an Accuquilt Studio and a Cricut Expression (I love all of the toys and gadgets). I mainly use my Accuquilt for everything quilting and my Cricut for scrapbooking and school stuff (I teach second grade). If I need a few of something for a quilt I will use my Cricut to cut the pieces and with it you can cut any style and size. I love them both. Hope this helps a little.
