Just curious, how do you lose them? mine are attached to the machine and can not be removed.

That looks just like my Singer. I can't remember when I got mine though, but it seems more like maybe 1960 or 61. It was a good machine until I got it serviced the last time. Now I can't get it to sew right. Since I have a 1996 Bernina now, I use it. Have not used any lately. been too busy reorganizing my sewing room. Fun to see that someone else has a machine just like mine. I have seen a cabinet pictured here just like my cabinet too.

When I lost one, I went to the local sewing machine repair man. He handed me a new one and said, "No charge." I told him I couldn't possibly take it for nothing and did indeed intend to pay him something. At that, he said, "Well, OK. Give me a quarter!"

Dotha, I got mine at a thrift store last year. It replaced an almost-identical model I'd bought new in 1963. That machine ran perfectly all its life (until it met with a freak accident). I hope you can find someone to undo the damage done by the "expert" repairman.
