    Oddly I seem to be happiest when I'm working on something that will take weeks or over a month to finish. I never realized it till I read this post. But when I make something small and it's done so fast, I don't enjoy it as much. I guess want a challenge, and/or deadline, and/or something that will be my project for a while.

    I love the designing process, whether I start with the pattern or fabric, I never follow a pattern exactly, I have to make it different. Then the fun hunt (in my stash or LQS) for the perfect fabrics. Don't like the cutting too much. The machine piecing I enjoy as long as I am still working to see how it will look, I kind of get bored at that point. I love all the hand work, applique, quilting, binding. My favorite parts are very worth doing the less favorite parts.

    I'm happiest when things are going together well and the design looks good. Unhappy when my well thought out plans and design just look "crappy." :)

    I would say that I am "happiest" when I am at my friend Rajean's house quilting and having tea, visiting and playing with the grandkids (I have one son who is 29 and has not blessed me with any myself YET, but I keep hoping they'll be ready soon). On the other hand, I am most "content" sitting in the living room with my DH while he watches football on Sunday, screaming at the TV, and I am hand appliquing. It's what passes for "quality time" in our lives now.

    Never thought about it Nadine, but that is true. I like long term projects also, as my closet, storage unit and sewing area will show you. Unfortunately, I am also the queen of UFO's

    I love the anticipation of starting a new quilt! I'm happy with the cutting, piecing and quilting, but nothing beats the excitement of starting a new quilt.

    Hmmmmmmm. Good question! I really have to give it some thought! I can answer quickly what is my least favorite! :-) Admiring finished quilts is probably the part I like the best! :-)

    I wish CJMomma lived by me'! I hate cutting! Being visually impaired have a hard time! Love to see it all come together. Then when it's all done I get to find a home for it as I give my stuff away!

    So many elements I enjoy....fabric hunting/buying, choosing a design, watching it grow...row by row. Love handpiecing in the evening and I really enjoy binding.

    I really enjoy sewing down the binding by hand, but I love lots of other parts too.
