I too use tracing paper - get mine at staples. It goes great through my printer, but I do leave regular paper behind the tracing paper when in the printer.

I saw Vellum at Office Max this morning. Price-I'm not sure if it was expensive or not. I've never used it for anything.

OfficeMax, Office Depot, Staples, and what about Michael's or Hobby Lobby (in the art supply sections)? I don't use vellum -- just copy paper. It works fine, but I do sometimes wish I had something thinner. ;)

I've only paper pieced a few small projects but found the cheap copy paper easier to remove than the freezer paper. I had no trouble seeing thru the paper to line up the fabric. and the money saved by not buying the more expensive vellum bought some nice new fabric.

I know they sell it at art supply stores. Good luck on your project.

Try Jhittlesewing.com. I noticed they have what they call Medical pattern paper that is transparent like vellum, 21" x75yds./$12.50. I have not paper pieced before, and I am not sure if this would work.

I went to Staples Office Supply and they had a package of tissue paper. I cut it up into printer size paper and printed my quilt design on it. You do have to feed one at a time in. It worked great.

I read a posting on another thread that Office Depot had a recycled newsprint (in printer size sheets) that worked wonderfully...

I went in and they told me they had never heard of it.

Also went to Staples and they didn't have it either,

Has anyone used this recycled newsprint.and if so, where did you purchase it?

Thanks......right now I use just regular copy paper and it works just fine but would like something that could be ripped off easier in the end.
