Default Would like your opinions please

This is my third ever quilt. I would like opinions on the layout before I start putting it together. Also do think I should put borders on. The pattern doesn't show borders but I like them as it looks more finished.

The only thing I would change is the 2 squares in second and third row from the bottom that make a backwards L in dark blue? I think if you have any more of the dark red fabric, that would make a great border. Very pretty by the way.

You can go NUTS moving the fabric around trying to get them set perfectly. And it is just not worth the stress. I think it looks fine. One of the bright such as the red or the yellow would be nice inside accent border if it coordinated with what you will use for your outside border. Unless something bothers you, it seems fine to me. I see simple diagonal lines for the quilting. GOOD LUCK!!

i think i'm pointing out the same as tartan...
on rows 6 and 7, i'd turn that block of dark [brown to me] blocks so they are a farther distance from the two dark ones above it. otherwise, i think its a fantastic quilt!

    It looks great!

It is true you will go nuts moving stuff around.

I remember one quilt that I just couldn't leave alone. I realized that I had it right in the first place but could never get back to how that was!

LOL, I was just going to say the same thing. The first turning 20 I did almost DID me in. I can NOT make myself do ramdom. I simply can't do it.

The purple (on my screen) should be the outside border.

Love your quilt, the colors are great. I would add a narrow border, then a second wider one.

I also love your quilt. I would add a border or two if you want to. It's all personal preference. Lay some fabric out, folded like they were borders, and see what you think. I tend to like a narrow inner border, say 2 inches, and a wider outer order, say 5 inches. I usually start with the fabric folded to sort of match that and go from there. Often it really depends on how much fabric I have.

    Enjoy playing with it all!

I agree with Tartan. It's going to be pretty when it's finished.

I love the pattern you selected and the color combination of your fabric. I would add a border and any of the fabric in your top would work.
