Default Would you border this quilt?

    Hi,

I am trying to decide whether to put a border on this quilt. I think a border may calm it down a little.

I know it's hard to tell, but this quilt is all done in various greens. The border I would put on would be about a 5 - 6 inch border of a dark green marbled fabric. This quilt right now is 84x84. Thanks for your opinion!

Oh by the way, the pattern is Strip Twist from Bonnie Hunter's website.

Lovely Strip Twist! I think a large green border would be pretty, kind of like a frame for the top.

Gorgeous quilt. I think this quilt would definitely benefit from a border. I would be half tempted to double border. A strip the same size as what is in your quilt in a light then your dark green. But it is hard to say without first auditioning it. I love the colors in your quilt.

I agree with Tartan. A wide green border would be very nice. Wonderful Strip Twist. Great colors.

Great looking quilt. I can see why you're having trouble decided whether or not to border it. I think it looks very modern the way it is. I can picture it with simply a dark binding. Bordering it would give it a more traditional look. I would choose colors that read as solids, whatever your choice. Very nice work.

First off, it is a beautiful quilt! Second, I think it could use a border. Something dark to contain all that wonderful movement. It sure is a beauty! Nice piecing!

The best way to find out is to audition your fabric against it IRL.

I agree with LoisF ... if bordering, your fabric should be one that reads solid.
