    Default Wrong thread

I thought I had the perfect thread for my spiderweb quilt, but after practicing on this extra block, I think it contrasts too much with the light fabric and not enough with the dark. So I've ordered a couple of lighter variegateds. Luckily I have another orphan block to try them out on.

Daffy, that's a beautiful block but I have to agree with you on the thread.
    Your username cracks me up!

Love the block and actually like the quilting thread. I'll be curious to see what the variegated looks like. hope you post a photo.

It does not seem that bad to me, but at least it is nice for you to get a little bit of practice.

Gorgeous fabric and terrific block!! Wow.
But agree . A little too dark against the light strips. I can see paler colors working better.

If you quilted by stitching in the ditch, then the dark thread would not show very much.

When there is such a high degree of contrast in the piecing, I don't know what color I would use for quilting.

Me too. Especially in the sample you posted.

    What a beautiful block.

I like the thread colour, but we all have a vision of what we want our quilts to look like and this isn't yours, so keep looking until you find just the right thing. Variegated might be just the ticket.
