    I only buy about 1 yard extra to finish my project. I never know if something will go wrong and I will need at least that much to finish it.

    I buy what I think I'll need plus an amount to add to my stash...the more I like the fabric, the more I add for the stash.

    I do if I like it., I don't know what size quilt I will make so I like to be sure to have more than enough for a big one as a smaller quilt. I buy at least 3-5 meters if I love that particular fabric.
