Gannyrosie - that box is adorable. How big is it? Did you make a sleeve that you dropped the cigar box into? Did you have to paint the box? Is it fabric lined inside, too?

thebox was about 7.5 x 4.25. Yes I had to paint just the top edge cause the top slide out verses swinging open, that's why the button to have something to pull it open.
yes I made a sleeve, left the bottom bindinding flat to wrap under so I had something to tack it to. Then covered it with felt. I also lined it with felt. The top was glued onto a cardboard then glued to the top. It was all lined with felt verses batting cause it didn't want it too thick.

My dad has a ton of cigar boxes around. I am going to have to try to do something like this. Great way to kill off scraps and use those boxes!

Thank you all so much! It was a totally relaxing day and I was able to open my envelopes in the evening. Each envelope was another fun package of beautiful fabrics and wondering about the projects the original fabric was a part. And sparking me to think of what I want to do with them. You ladies must have some great quilts with great stories behind them! Again, my most heartfelt thanks for all the goodies!

Macybaby and Irishmom, glad you enjoyed your special days! Have fun with the candies.

I always find myself looking at mine, wishing they were swatches I could order from, LOL!
