I have a treadle for power outages. A couple of years ago we started prepping for food shortages, planned power outages and such. One thing on my list was a belt for my treadle. I'm not going to stop sewing when the world comes apart, lol!

I'm fine with hand sewn blocks as long as I don't have to make them!

NZ I had a treadle but gave it to a friend who collected antiques, I never used it.

Thanks for the chuckle. I think many people feel that way. I do some hand sewing but not much. I used to knit and crochet but my hands are not as cooperative. Anna

In the camper I am able to run a small mechanical sewing machine off of batteries and solar. If I want to press and use the iron I need to turn on the generator. This last trip was the first trip I was able to try it and it went really well.

Anna we use to own acreage that hubby used for hunting land. I would set up my sewing machine in the open area and sew away. The power was from a generator but it was enclosed and very quiet. A very enjoyable experience and a great memory. Thanks for reminding me of it

I have two treadle machines and love sewing with them. I told my husband I might give one away and he said he wants to keep so he can learn to sew. We will see.

Good morning, Begonias. All this talk of treadles makes me want one. Alas, no room to put one.

It’s rainy outside but that should be all we get from this storm, lots of rain. I hope those of you in the path stay warm and dry. Take care!

LOL, B'stone! I inherited unfinished Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks from Givio, and really want to finish it. The blocks are so beautiful but all that handstitching! And whoever did the first ones (I suspect it was her grandmother) had such beautiful, tiny stitches. I'm going to give it a try.

Gonna rain all day here too, Janice. The dog is crossing his legs.
