Yes, I just can't seem to stay from these. The ideas just keep popping in my head. This swap is a little different as it is specific in block and color. I think it will make a real nice "winter style" sampler quilt. And since the blocks are all there, everyone can add to it (if they so choose) to make the quilt as large as they desire. I am having a hard time deciding what one to do [/quote]

That's because there's no Deb star block.
For me , it was an easy choice.

Is "silver" a metallic or a light shade of gray?

Is "gold" a metallic or shades of yellow?

Hmmmmm...... good questions.....I was thinking of this being more of a winter theme - and that brings to mind metallics or shimmers, instead of gray and yellows. The blocks chosen, they all use 5 colors with the exception of one which uses 6, so if that block is chosen, two hues of blues, or two of greens could be used. I know there is red in all of the blocks, but omitting it makes it more 'winter' than a 'holiday season'. And if those little blocks or triangle pieces scare you, take a look at the tutorial that Rhonda does. She has you sew strips, THEN cut the triangle or half squares out of that. Smart lady!!!

That little voice in the back of my head doesn't agree that I need another commitment, but what the hay, sign me up for Sharon's Star. I just yesterday ordered fabrics in this range so I'm taking that as a sign.

    Thanks, Deb, for doing this.

I have a lot of projects to finish between now and Christmas so I'm going to pass on this but I definitely want to participate next year in something you do. Thanks for taking on these swaps Deb! Anna

You go to quilterscache.com and then towards the bottom of the page you will see page numbers.

Here's a link (hopefully) directly to the stars page:

Wow!! A great set of stars. Thanks for the link, it worked easily. I need to mull this a little, but my first choice would be Ellen"s Star for the middle daughter's middle name. Sneaky way to make a choice. Too bad, Marcia can't spell Kathy correctly. Kathy in Colo
