Here's some pics of a quilt I finished last night. It was made from charm squares of the "Portugal" collection of fabrics by April Cornell for Moda. It measures 60" x 72". The pattern was supposed to be a kind of swirling of colors melding into each other, but I dunno --

I had originally intended this to be a Christmas gift quilt for someone, but as I was working on it I decided the colors were too "out there". So I have decided to keep it and use it as a picnic quilt, which is why I just did stitch-in-the-ditch quilting on it instead of FMQ'ing it.

The weather here this coming Saturday is supposed to be sunny and in the low 70s, so we plan to try it out this weekend! :D

I would have been happy to have it as a Christmas present Eddie, so I'm sure who you had it in mind for would have liked it too. Mind you, it will make a really stylish picnic quilt, and as for being able to have one outside in November, I am dead enviouse about that. I take it you didn't develop the flu after all? I hope not.

I think your quilt is fantastic. I love the swirls of color and I'm sure it would have been a great Christmas present. That being said, what a fantastic excuse for a wonderful picnic, so enjoy.

I like it, Eddie! You're the King of Moda Precuts! I can't believe you actually made one you aren't crazy about! It will make a great picnic quilt--save a cupcake for me!
