    Default "Caribbean Twist"

I was gifted a jelly roll of batiks by Tonga Treats and I made this Strip Twist from Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville. I really enjoyed the process of making the blocks. It looks more complicated than it is. I love the movement on this. I made it for a couple from Puerto Rico who live in this country and are living a life of self sacrifice. They set an example my husband and I feel is worth imitating and so we wanted to make them something special. I got just the reaction I was hoping for- squeals of delight and hugs and kisses. She said it was going in their living room and the colors would match perfectly. So happy with this one. I fmq'd vines and leaves in the borders and in each block I did pointy ovals coming out from the center of each block. Hope that makes sense.

Love these colors. This really does have a tropical feel to it. Very pretty!

Love the colors and don't you like a pattern that looks difficult but is not? You did a great job!
