Wow I guess #1 one is gonna be the winner. thanks for all the votes for #1, it's my favorite one too. The moms of the granddaughters are for voted #1 also. It just shy of a four foot square. I think I'll add taller borders in the top and bottom and narrower stip for border on the sides. I'll embroider the full baby's name at the top and the birthdate along the bottom. That is my favotite part is identifing the quilt. You know I've made over 20 baby quitls and haven't signed any of my work. The last one the mom insisted that she give it back to me for signing it.

it's raining here today or I would lay the blocks out on the grass. husband is working on race car while I play on the computer. hope to make 12 more blocks before Monday. weather will be bad so I'm sure I'll stay in sewing. there's gotta be a lay out that will really stand out. that why I don't have my queen size completed, I couldn't choose from the many layouts. especially what all you can do with more blocks. thanks for your input

I like #1.. Would you have been able to center the blue and surround with the other color?

I tried laying the four center blocks together and then the ripple effect going out but since it is already larger at 16 blocks the edges didn't complete any design, it was cut off

that is great, I am trying to do a baby quilt for the kids next door. Sparky has given me great advice for cutting a straight line. because that is kicking my behind :-) Penny

#1, but could you take the second one and invert the top half of the squares so that the lavenders all make a large X design? If possible I think that's also look nice!
