some of you read my thread the other day about my 'quilt from hell'. well i finished it the best i could. it turned out better than i thought it would but it's still not quite up to my standards. it's done though and i'm going to give it to my grandmother for x-mas as i had intended. so now i can move on to my next projects as i have a lot to do before christmas comes. anyways, here it is...

one more butterfly applique and a matching pillowcase my 11yo daughter made to go with it. it's not too perfect either so 'yeah' they match...lol. the quilt is stuffed in there until it's time to send it off.

Isn't it nice to finally finish it, though? Even if it isn't 'up to your standards,' I'll bet she really loves it. The colors are cheerful, and you put a lot of time and effort into it. Making a 2 sided quilt is twice the work, IMHO. I think the butterflies were a very creative solution to a problem.

Pat yourself on the back and have a chocolate.

What a special, magical idea to include a pillow case Made By Her Great Granddaughter! Trust me, your grandma will be delighted, and will understand the hours that went into her quilt. I'll bet it's warm and toasty. I've never made a double-sided quilt like that - what an Undertaking! Really nice quilting on it too.

Hey, it's done. A done quilt is great! Please let us know what Grma says when you give it to her.
