The "Circle of Fire" pattern is the cover. Half the background is black and half is purple, so with the orange pieced block - it really jumps out at you. Nancy Zieman is in the upper right corner on the cover too. Nov'09 of American Quilter.

Thanks for figuring this out. JanetM is trying to find out if Pat Wolfe has this pattern available for purchase.
I just heard from Pat Wolfe. She has not created a pattern for commercial sale, but you can get her pattern in two different ways.

If you are interested in subscribing to American Quilter for $25/yr Pat's pattern is available for download on American Quilter's website.

Or---You can request a copy of the Nov'09 issue by calling (207) 898-7903.

I respectfully request that you obtain the pattern legally, and not violate Pat Wolfe's copyright by sharing the pattern with others. ;)

My copy of American Quilter with the "fireworks/Circle of Fire" pattern by Pat Wolfe arrived yesterday. I'm glad fireworkslover posted pics of her blocks. Her photography is soooo much better than the pics in the magazine. I'm not sure I would have fallen so in love with this pattern had I not seen your pics first, fireworkslover.

I've looked through my stash for suitable fabrics, but I'm not finding anything that suits me for this, so it's off to the fabric store.
