First Scrappy Quilt

First Scrappy Quilt
I started this first time scrappy quilt thinking it would be small and fast. I've learned 'quilt as I go' doesn't translate to small nor fast. It has preoccupied me for two weeks and just kept growing. I finally finished the top today. As a newbie to quilting, I learned a plan is always a good idea.

A cute top you have created! My tops are often plan as you go - it does have its drawbacks, but it also allows your creativity to flow (sometimes mine stops for a while before flowing again, but that is my hazard!) Do it how it feels good to you. I've done it both ways. A plan is definitely a good thing when there's a deadline involved (Gifts, for instance) and a deadline can put a stop to habitual indecision also - my mind almost always thinks of 10 more ways to consider once I have a plan, so I have to put a stop to 2nd guessing my plans sometimes. Finding your own path is a lot of fun - happy quilting!

I like the quilt; great job! As I am colorblind, the giraffe was not obvious to me at first, but I found it on the second look!
Plans - Yes, a plan is always a good idea. And then, as we all know, the plan is the plan until the plan changes! Glad you are both enjoying and learning the art of quilting.
