Love the quilts. I am working on a GFG as an ongoing project. Actually on and off. Weeks or months go by when I will not touch the little hexies then I'm at it again. I make mine by hand also but I use either plastic hexies or paper. Either one works as well as the other.

So, the fabrics and the colors were of her choosing. But, during her era, these were popular colors. Brings back a lot of old memories. MIL was in her late 80's when she taught me how to put the hexies together. She is gone now. But, I hope to carry on and hand the torch over to the next generation of quilters. If you'd like to see how these are sewn by hand, check out my tutorial.http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...k-t247599.html
I just love the 2nd one. Reminds me of my deceased maternal grandmother. She sure could turn out some beautiful quilts. She left us here on earth for her home in heaven in 1977.

Beautiful quilts. Is the first one made out of double knit?

Love the quilts, I'm sure she would be pleased that you are passing on the tradition.
