    Rust was my first thought too, but could you just put a little pad of fabric or felt between the metal and your beautiful quilt?

    I also wanted to mention that I saw where a lady used those same clips and after getting them attached she took off the front long silver piece by squeezing it together to remove. If you did that people would see more of the lovely quilt and less of the clip.

    Very good use of space as long as you don't get a lot of moisture from lots of showering. I don't think humidity is a real good friend to fabric, especially when there is batting. Just my thoughts, for what they are worth. I'd hate to see anything happen to such a nice quilt!
