    I think it's beautiful. There's not as much contrast as in the pattern, but I think it will work because of the beautiful batiks.

    Could you use that as a center block and then do several marvelous borders around it? There are some beautiful border quilts out there. Maybe you could even choose a couple of fabrics that are more to your liking to add to it.

    I actually like the fabrics. You may like the combination better if you are able to make the middle star more prominent, like out of the dark purple and then the dark purple on the outer edge of the block so that it stands out on both the middle star and the middle of the four corners of each block were the 4 meet.     I'm doing a Day and Night quilt right now in blue and white. It looks complicated to do, but is really easy.

    I agree with most everyone else here, it's for her and she likes the colors. Keep working on it and even if you don't like it in the end, it will be leaving your house! :lol:

    Please post more pictures as you make more blocks. :thumbup:
