I think its not to bright to begin with and no where near gaudy. I am laughing however at the thought a quilt given to a seven year old will survive til she is thirty. The child is 7. She will not treat it as an heirloom and with many washes and much love it will get worn. If it does survive she will then treasure it for the memory of who made it and the years of use. My children have quilts they were made at children. My oldest now 27 as a very young boy wanted a jamaica colored quilt. I made it with REAL bright colors and offset it with blacks .. it is a bold bright quilt lizards yellows! bright greens! etc and you know he still loves it. the others love theirs too because of the memories. I think your safe. ps that is a gorgeous colored quilt.

It will be nice for her now and in 30 years it may fade a little if she likes it lighter then.

I like it a great deal, but I am wondering why you are worrying about something that might not happen for 23 years ?

I think that is beautiful. Never seen that pattern before and really like it. My Gkids all love bright. I am sure it will be a big hit!

I don't think it is to bright. I made one for a 10 year old niece in lots of purples and she loved it. I think people who like purple love it forever.
