I agree. I think with that change, it WILL look 3-D.

Cute quilt. The shadow effect works best if you have the dark on top and one side or bottom and one side indicating direction of light. You would probably want it the same for each picture.

It is such a loving tribute to Dolly. I would not change any of it. She looks happy and very loved. They give a lot of love too. I am sorry for her loss of the beautiful life you gave to her.

This is a beautiful quilt for a beautiful cat. It is so difficult to lose our animal companions. When your heart heals and you are ready. please visit your local animal shelter and rescue another beautiful girl waiting for a forever home.

Please over look the purple design wall. Any input I would be greatful.

    Thanks

I think the shading on two sides would work but I really like the way it looks now. I agree it reminds me of art deco. A wonderful memory quilt.

If you really want a 3D effect, place your black strips on just 2 adjoining sides, eg right and bottom only. This makes it look like the light is coming from the upper left.
Just try to picture the light source you want to achieve, and put the dark shadows opposite that. Try to have it coming from one corner, not one side. If you look at real shadows, you will see that they are not black, but a darker shade of the original colour.
