    Have you tried a simple pattern in paper piecing? I learned from a book by Valori Wells titled : "Radiant New York Beauties". I have made 4 paper pieced quilts. I'm currently in the middle of a good size one that'll be a wallhanging.

    If you have half the skills in the finishing that you do in the piecing you have nothing to worry about.

    Unfortunately my skills in the "finishing" arena are limited to Stitch In the Ditch. I could imagine a random free motion tree shape to mimic the trees in the center.
