    Default Lemonade Purse

Always heard when life gives you lemons make lemonade....well here is mine...not very good but not horrible either.

I had just started it last week when I took one of the hardest falls I have ever had taking out my left knee and thumb and for some reason biggest bruise of all was the bottom of my right breast..All my life I have dealt with pain by working it off...total immersion in something...so now I have a new purse...

Great thing about it was it didn't cost a cent...had gotten the little four patches in a grab bag for a quarter at the thrift store and the green was left over from the Exploding blocks I still haven't finished..and scrap batting abounds in my stash. Learned a lot...mostly what not to do next time....LOL

I love love love your purse. The outside is very pretty, and the inside is another reason I love these bags. All the pockets that are added, but I like how the inside middle you can see the bottom where you have all this free room to put in your billfold/clutch thing with all the cards we all have, or anything else that is bulkier. I went back to take another look, and seen the sweet touch of the little pleat you added for interest at the top.
    Thanks for sharing with us.

My, that is a nice-looking bag. I am sorry you have been hurt and the rest of you, too. Goodness, sounds like a recuperative center for quilters would be a good idea. Hope everyone is better soon. BTW, did you have a pattern or just wing it?

I did have a pattern but am afraid I winged it too to make a purse instead of a market bag...so I made it smaller...then I had to make it even smaller because I screwed up and accidentally cut rounded corners all around on one side piece....had to take off one row...worked out alright as far as depth...Next time I will increase the width of the pleat because the 3/4" on each side was a little skimpy. I cut a piece of material the width of the side doubled the depth of it so it would fold over just top stitching it at the top..the other three sides were inside the seams. Measured the things I wanted to go into it pockets and set their spaces accordingly..the other side I did the same thing except made them short enough to get two rows of pockets...these I just divided into three sections making 6 small pockets. Instead of the smaller handles I made a longer one attached on the ends..Usually have lots of bags to carry so this one goes over my shoulder leaving hands free...

This is the free pattern from allpeoplequilt...they have lots of great bag patterns that are free...

Sounds like my lemonade was pretty sweet compared to all of your injuries...Mine was totally not paying attention which I will try to correct...Mostly my biggest injury was embarrassment from falling flat in an eye clinic waiting room full of people.
