    Default Masato's Baby Quilt

My DD and I finished this baby quilt for her half brother's son in time for the baby shower tonight. She did most of the work I supplied the encouragement, some of the fabrics and some of the quilting. She did the FMQ. Her brother's wife is Japanese and we thought it fitting to build a quilt around a panel titled Boy's Day. The colors are much brighter and clearer than tonight's photos.

This is the first time we used the Sharon Schambers method of basting a quilt. And we are quite pleased with how it turned out. FYI, the backing is a sheet I purchased last summer at Walmart. DD had already made a pieced backing but it just did not "work" with the quilt. The sheet was perfect.

This is a terrific quilt! Adding his name along the side is a great way to incorporate it subtly.
