Yup! They're back! If you're lucky enough to have knee-hi
socks (remember them?)- they make the very best monkey dolls!

You have joined a Sock Monkey club. I am queen or at least princess. I have sewn over 200 sock monkeys in 30 years. Each baby in the family, or for friends then for Church for the homeless children that come through for a weeks stay.

They are such happy projects! It is hard not to smile when sewing a sock monkey.

I have not seen the fancy socks in Michaels. Have not been in a Michaels for years. Fun fun fun !

You're right, Chairjogger - it's hard not to smile when you're making a sockmonkey doll or any sock doll. I had made about 30 of them for our church fair about 40 years ago. Then I made them for my kids. My son still has his, and then his daughter and now his other daughter - so that the three of them can play with their dolls together. My Homemaker's group has made them, and so have my quilting friends. Sock Monkey is a happy project!!! I think the best part is that they don't have to be new socks, nor do they have to match. The funkier the better!

Pal those dolls make you wish for one. Someday maybe I can get around to try making one.
