    HI Tilladare, I just want to share with you that I always trace the applique flower (or whatever u want to app) onto tracing paper. Or I also use Whisperlite (applique overlay tracer) I cut the the tracing paper the same size as my block, then after tracing the design on the paper I pin the paper at the topof my fabric block this way I can see where I need to place the stem, leaf, flower etc. If you have to number the pieces do this on the tracing paper. After I place the stem and line it up to my picture, I pin this in place. I flip the paper over so I can sew the piece to the block. I hope u find this helpful. If u need to pm me feel free to do so.     WOW! Your first attempt is awesome and no need for improvement! I am in the process of trying to get brave to applique for the first time..material is cut - just need courage to start!
