My first attempt at quilting was a lap blanket for my grandfather. He used to be a farmer. I had some polar fleece with stick figure cows on it and it made me think of him. So I sewed some fat quarters together to make the top, pillowcased it to the polar fleece and traced some stars and squares to "quilt" it.

That is really, really cool. Was it hard to work with fleece and regular fabric at the same time? I love how you cut the strips on the fleece. The rectangles and stars go so well together. You did great on your first quilt!
