was originally given to my lovely mother-in-law by her father when she went to college in 1938. I used it several times while visiting her. The last time was about 10 years ago. She could no longer get it out to use, so I mended some slacks for her. I forgot about it until about a month ago. My husband knew I was looking at a featherweight at a lgs. I just couldn't justify $450 for one. He mentioned his mothers. I called my sister-in-law to see if she still had it.(She isn't a sewer/quilter.) She said it was at the farmhouse. We went yesterday and got it. She had the original table stored in her garage. So tonight "Ilah" is in my house, and I am so very proud to have her. She is as clean as if new, and sews like a dream!

The original sewing table that came with the machine.

WOW - a beautiful machine and a table. Thankfully no one had any ideas about making the table 'useful'. Congrats.

The best thing is that all it cost was a hug for my sil and being married to the greatest man in the world! ( and having the greatest sil in the world!) :-D
