    Thank you all so much. I am going to try and see what I can find and maybe I will post it again. You all have been very helpful. I think I knew I needed 2 more but just can't get my head around that many colors. Most I have ever used is 3 so this is a real challenge for me. I am glad you are stearing me tward small prints as then I did 3 colors I used prints and love it. My mom says you HAVE to have a solid!!! but she is OLD SCHOOL!! 90 years young.

    Sometimes a solid will work, or if the quilt is ONLY solids like Amish quilts. I will sometimes use a solid as a small border(for a framing effect) or for binding. It really depends on what other fabrics one is using and the pattern. Many of the 1930-50's type quilts use solids, so that's probably why your mother says that;>

    I think I would replace the green with a sage green to match the green in the floral. I would also replace the dusty rose with white or black. (I would use white because I can't see well enough to sew with black.)
