Default New Basting Table and Linen Sampler

I bought two used folding tables for $30. I keep them in the garage when not in use. When they are set up side by side I have a flat surface of 60" x 72." Bed risers on the legs raise the table to a comfortable height. I was thrilled how quickly I was able to pin baste this quilt. Then I turned it over and there were puckers! Oh no!!!

I decided to take the pins out and try out Elmer's School Glue basting now that I had a large surface to see if that worked better. It did! I couldn't believe how easy, fast, and effective it was. I read where some people have a hard time squeezing the bottle. I put one of Sharon Schamber's fine tips on the glue container (purchased through this website: https://purpledaisiesquilting.com/) and then put the glue container in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes. OHMYGOSH! The glue came out so thin it was like liquid spider webs. I don't think the whole quilt took more than 15 minutes to baste. The quilt stayed competely flat the whole time I was quilting. I'm sold on this method.

The quilt is made from linen fabric samples that an interior decorator gave me when he cleaned out his closet. I put Pellon 906F interfacing on the linen blocks since they were stretchy.

Your setup is great and I love your quilt. The shadowing is wonderful. Thanks for the tip about putting the bottle of glue in warm water for a few minutes too.
