Hey, you did great both in the pricing & choice of fabric! Can't wait to see the finished project. I still have to attempt an OBW but then I have other projects b4 I can start it!

Wednesday nights my BFF always comes for dinner and coffee. She leaves work, we eat, chat, and craft (she's a knitter, I usually sew something). After dinner tonight, I had her look at my design wall and tell me what she would do to make my blocks work. She shifted around a few things, and VIOLA! It's like magic. I just needed another set of eyes on it to make it work! I'm sewing that thing together tomorrow!

I agree. sometimes all you need is a fresh set of eyes! It looks beautiful and I'm sure when it done you will love it. I've done one before and now watching yours I want to do another!

It is wonderful, how often is the repeat and did you get enough of the original to showcase it somewhere on the front or back?

    QuiltE--
I have TWO that I want to do now!! How's that?
I think I will give my eyes a break and make the top I already have fabric for (red and aqua chevrons I planned some months ago) first, though.

I have a yard uncut still to put somewhere in the borders or the back. Not sure how I will work it in yet, though.
None of the blocks are the same, only 2 that I can tell are even really similar to one another.
The repeat on the original fabric was about 24 inches.

Yes, my DD and I do that all the time. When she was living in Oregon we exchanged a LOT of Email pics when we were placing our hexagone blocks. Even taking a photo os the layout gives one a different perspective.

    Caroline...
I think it was your daughter's OBW (black and white with Koi fish??) that first caught my eye--hers was SOOOO gorgeous. I honestly loved every single thing about that quilt! I stared at the photo you posted for a good while and then started researching how to make one. I threw all good sense to the wind, never even considering that it might be too difficult (it wasn't at all...it just LOOKS intimidating).
I have the two of you to thank for my current obsession! LOL
