    Default Patriotic Quilt Top

I completed this top this morning. The volunteers coordinator at the senior center requested some as a 'special project'. I told her I could commit to one a month as I still want to donate to the cancer center.
I just love this pattern... so easy and I can make them quickly... you know... like on an assembly line. And I got to use my new Quilters Select square up ruler [ https://quiltersselect.com/products/...uilting-Rulers ] purchased in Arkansas on my recent vacation to visit my elderly parents. I just love this ruler... it has thin marked lines and a backing that simply will not slip when cutting. They are designed by Alex Anderson and distributed only in LQSs to support local shops.

Looks like a winner. Just squares and 1/2 sq tr. What size are your squares? And what size is the over all quilt? Or is this a pattern you can not share? It sure is beautiful and interesting.

That is nice! Lots of movement, but a straight forward layout, and any size squares will work!

I cut 18 red squares at 5.5" and 18 scrappy squares at 5.5". I HST either side of the diagonal line and square up to 5". I cut 72 scrappy squares and sew them into the 9 patches and lay out in the pattern, then sew together. it ends up 40.5x54. borders can be added as desired. i make it this size so the backing does not have to be pieced.

Very nice quilt and love how the red just peeks out and makes a statement and adds a little pop to your quilt.

Nancy, the charity I sew for makes this exact size -- we too do not want to have to piece the backing. Love this pattern, will have to "borrow" this one.
