    Default Practice Quilt...

This is a quilt with a sordid past... It was originally going to be for my ex, then he became my ex. My ex tried to have the judge make me finish it and give it to him. The judge laughed at him. Anyway, I needed a blanket for one of my kids in a hurry, so did some FMQ and the binding so it could be used. HATED the FMQ. Decided to hand quilt the open squares and borders, and just not use it more than necessary. well, now it is my practice quilt. I use it to practice hand quilting from time to time. My stitches are not the smallest or most even, but so far I have not used any patterns or anything. Basically, doodling with thread

What an heirloom treasure you are making. Can you imagine how treasured it will be knowing that all the little stitches were done by Mom? Your hand quilting is fantastic.

I think your hand quilting is just fine! And glad to hear the judge had some common sense! Keep up the good work.

Your handquilting is lovely....how weird of him to ask for it. I too am glad the judge had some sense. Anyway, I think it's a lovely quilt....not sordid at all...just 'in demand'.

How smart are you! A practice quilt -great idea. And such a good "doodler" with thread. I've tried several times but hand quilting takes its toll on my fingers.

Don't worry. Which ever one of your kids get this quilt, they will adore it because you made it. You must have felt a bit of relief when the judge actually laughed. Divorces can be so nasty at times. Hang in there. Your hand quilting is just fine. I might have stitch in the ditch between the squares and the border first just to stabilize the quilt.
