I sew for Q of V and when I started, I was told no embellishments and no metallic fabrics.

Is a Quilt of Honor the same as a Quilt of Valor? Are these meant to be used for comfort or hung on a wall? Are they already sewn, or are you looking for things that will be quilted onto them. This is posted in "Pictures", but perhaps your picture didn't get added. If they are not yet made, one idea might be to use 3D elements that consist of folded fabric. There's a book, Fantastic Fabric Folding by Rebecca Wat that might offer some ideas for embellishments you could make for yourself that would not be uncomfortable in a cuddle quilt. There is at least one star among her designs.

Something that will help the between blocks-12" on a 9-Patch not look so plain. The 9-patch blocks are okay; just the solid RWB.
I thought first about small flags I would sew on the center of the plain blocks, but can't find any. As close as I have come since then was to fussy-cut something out of the 9-patch fabrics. Didn't want to go to that if I could find something.
Thanks. Please send a PM with suggestions.

Quilts of Honor go to men/women who served in any branch of the military. Quilts of Valor go to men who were injured when in the service. That is my understanding. Ours is Quilts of Honor.
