Sorry I'm so slow to respond, it's been a difficult week!

The Stars are "Lucky Stars" by Atkinson Designs. Extremely easy, and comes together very fast. I've made several in different color combinations, some batik, some cotton prints. It always comes out great! The alternating blocks are flipped, so very few seams to match. I made one from selecting the fabric from my stash to wrapping the gift in about 4 days, and I work full time.

The one with houses is called Beach Cottages. Here's where I got the pattern http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php...ng_id=38469031 It was my first paper pieced pattern. It's much easier than I thought, but definitely not one to rush thru.

Boston1954 ~ there are places online that you can get batiks for a very good price ($4-6/yd)! Thousands of Bolts, Marshall Dry Goods, Fabric Depot, Over the Rainbow. If you check out the ones in your LQS, then look online, you will recognize them and get a better idea of color. I love batiks...can't get enough of them! LOL

You have all converted me! I am not a fan of batiks when I just look at the fabric, but somehow they seem to transform when they are put into a quilt. I bought 2 pieces yesterday at the LQS....I can see I'm going back today :) Thanks for sharing!

Looks like have charged up a few people. I ordered the two that I showed and I have found several more that I want. This is one of them.

My avatar has a lot of batiks in it. It is a queen sized paper pieced quilt. The NY beauty blocks were supposed to be floral fabrics, but I chose to do 'color wheels' instead - and had a ball doing it!

Have you seen the Back to Nature batik quilt kit in Hancocks of Paducah catalog. I want it so bad but it is 199 dollars. Of course it is 96 x 106 size.
They are sold out, darn. I can get it as a block of the month on a couple of sites but they want 240 dollars.
