    Thank you all for all the very nice comments! Some of you have asked for the pattern and I think I sent a PM to everyone who did. But in case I missed someone, here it is again: Paper Pieced Garden Stars by Liz Swartz and Stephen Siefert; it's available at Amazon. I bought the book when it first came out (2001) for $24.95. Today, when I went to Amazon to see if they had it, it was listed for as much as $999.99. I can't believe that! What a rip off! There are some used ones for $25.04.
    I used some batiks, and since it's paper-pieced, the black is sewn in. It was very fun to make. I made it in 2002, and it hung in the shop I was working at for 4 years. I finally got it back and then it sat around here until I sent it to the quilter this year. So the quilt is 10 years old, and doesn't have a binding on it yet!
