    That's what I did several years ago. I was so tired of having to get up from sewing to go to the ironing board.
    I read about this idea somewhere, maybe on this Board. I used pillow ticking as the top; thought it would stand up better than fabric.

    This is an awesome idea! The height is perfect for use, ie you don't have to get up to press while sitting at the sewing table, and much easier to store than an ironing board, plus the added surface width! Thanks for sharing.
