Default Stinky is Done! 2 years later

Hello. I finished this quilt a couple weeks ago. It is from a jelly roll I bought of ebay and smelled like smoke so bad that we had to put it in the back of the truck when we got it from the post office! I don't know where the post is now, but i had posted about it when I got it. Whie making it I only used a dry iron and worked on it once in awhile because no matter what i did, charcoal, dryersheets, hubbys descent stuff for hunting, on and on, it smelled up the whole house when out of its tub.

It is from the 9 Patch reunion book by Atkinson. It is made up of 2 1/2 inch squares ( I didn't know about strip piecing when I made this)

    Thanks for looking.

It looks great. Glad you persevered. In the summer if you hand it on the line with a breeze every so often that should help. Terrible smell to get rid of - but looks fab.

"Stinky" is beautiful. Hopefully all the washing will get rid of the stink and you can enjoy this gorgeous quilt!

what a great quilt. Don't know how you persisted with the smoke smell. It could have never even come into my home. Hope you can get the stink out. How about one of the cleaning companies that clean houses after fires? Maybe they have some magic cleaner

Your quilt is beautiful. Did you ever manage to get the smell out?

BTW, here is your original post. Wow, almost 2 years ago.

Have you tried vinegar? I use it to set colors and I think it neutralizes ordors too. It is great for many things. MERRY CHRISTMAS from Michigan!
