Beautiful and great job. I would like to have time to do one like that. Sure wish I could, I have so many for kids to get done; may some day. Beautifully done. There is always a few bullies around; ignore them if they say anything.

It's a gorgeous quilt. You've done a beautiful job. If I made something like that, I'd be celebrating! How you quilt it is up to you. When I quilt feathers, I buy those rolls of thin paper that have the feathers printed on them, pin the paper to the fabric where I want feathers, and just (slowly) "follow the lines" with stitching. It never comes out perfect, and honestly, I'm the only one who ever notices it's not perfect. It suits me, and the more I do it, the better I become at feathers. Who knows? One of these days I may be able to do feathers without using the paper!

I agree w/ dungeon quiilter and you do have to pay attention to what is recommended by the batting co. and what type of batting you use. Look on the package to see how far apart the quilting should be. You don't want the batting to buch up inside the quilt when laundered.
You are on the right track. Good job so far. See how much more quilitng you have to do before it is finished. You don't want an angry customer.

When I first started quilting, I was told that the quilting should be the same density all over the quilt.
Your sashing is quilted more than the blocks. I would add some stippling to the background of the blocks, and maybe more quilting on the motifs as well.
As for feathers, there are several different techniques out there. Do some research on the internet. Trace by hand to teach muscle memory before trying to quilt them. Practice on plain muslin sandwich. Draw it out and try to follow the lines. I can't free motion quilt without lines to follow myself.
I think the quilt looks lovely, and you have done a good job quilting it.

I love your quilt. You've made a wonderful job of it. I'm rubbish at free motion quilting at the moment, need more practice. I just tend to use the fancy stitches already on the machine with the walking foot. I will master it eventually. Your quilting is lovely.
