    First I got to say that this is beautiful. And second I have to agree with your choice of doing your own thing, that's what creating quilts is all about, as well as any craft. Make it your way and toss out the rules.

    AWESOME quilt...Love, love, love water color quilts...I made a heart shaped wreath as a baby quilt with the babies initials in cream and lavender water colors.....

    I found a book by Eleanor Burns called "Cross Stitch" Quilts. It is based on Anne Champe Orr, 1920's designer of "cross stitch" quilts. There are some amazing designs in it. Lots of small 1 1/2" blocks. This caught my eye as I like to do cross stitching (my first craft as a child). Haven't made any of them yet, but I look at this book often.
