    Just been happily stippling away---ran out of bobbin thread--turned it over --- no backing fabric.At least it was just one qayg block.

    Sounds like something I'd do. And for me it would be the best stippling I'd ever done which would all have to be removed.

    Very pretty! So put in a darker thread, put on your backing fabric and turn the meander into a ribbon effect.

    Since it's so gorgeous, I'd turn it into a little wall-hanging or frame it and put it on a stand to go with the future big quilt!

    Yes, something I would so also. It's beautiful and you can still put on a backing with minimal quilting or as Kathy T. says makes a beautiful wall hanging!
