    Default Weird stuff blasting

This may not be in the right thread but as I posted a last comment and checking some other threads out, I hear audio ads. I'm asking if anyone knows what may be happening. It also happened on a couple of other sites. I contacted tech support and of course nothing. Any one have any ideas? Scared the bejeebers out of me. Just did it again. DH says it isn't wifi. We don't have it!

Maybe you have some ads that are popping up in the background. That happens to me sometimes when I open a site, and there are advertisements on the page that start playing. I just turn off the sound.

Sometime web pages will come up behind the web page I have opened. They don't play ads but they drive me crazy.

Try this to disable these pop-ups:

    Click on your "control panel"
    Click on "internet options"
Click on "Privacy" tab at top of that window
    Click on "pop-up blocker"
Click "settings" in the blue box
Click "Blocking level" in blue box at bottom of this window
Click "Medium: block most automatic pop-ups" from the short list of choices

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, Jan. You are the most helpful. The weather is supposed to take a turn for the worst near you. Be prepared. Lots of cat food!!!! It will miss us entirely.

top this one. lol I was on line reading e-mails a few months ago and suddenly the bright camera light came on on the top edge of the monitor and a voice came on. Don't remember what was said but it was a male voice and I shut the laptop down immediately. SO was asleep in the other room and we were the only ones in the house and live in a fairly rural area. Had the feeling that someone was watching me through the camera lens. Is that possible? I didn't have Skype or any kind of calling or viewing software installed but someone had connected to my laptop somehow.
