    Yield: Serves 6-8

    Ingredients
3 cups sandwich bread (white or wheat) cut into cubes
    1-cup milk
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chip morsels
    Whipped cream or ice cream

    Preparation
    1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2.Place bread crumbs in a 1-1/2 quart baking dish that has been greased or prepared with non-stick cooking spray.
3.Scald milk with butter until butter is melted.
4.Combine with sugar, salt, eggs, cinnamon and nutmeg.
5.Pour over bread cubes. Stir in chocolate chips.
6.Place baking dish on a pan of hot tap water about 1-inch deep.
7.Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until a knife inserted in at least 1-inch from the edge comes out clean.
8.Serve with whipped cream or ice cream
