About 50 years ago a co-worker said to have on hand these ingredients and in 5 minutes you can have a meal for 4.
1 onion, 1 pkg smokey links (in freezer), 1 can green beans, 1 can sliced white potatoes, 1 or 2 tablespoons oil. Heat oil in skillet, add chopped up onion and cook until onion soft, add drained green beans and potatoes. Add as much reserved liquid from cans as you like. Dinner for 4.

sounds like a good plan, I don't think it would take much longer if you used fresh potatoes and frozen beans,

SIL makes this -- except she drains both the beans and the potatoes and adds a can of tomato soup and enough of the liquid to make it "right" (that's her words)

I do the same thing but instead of little smokies we use kielbasa sausage and cut it into 1/4" rounds. But this is a good comfort food to have in the winter!!!
