    Default Super Bowl Munchies

So.... just found out DD and DSIL are planning to watch the game here again on Sunday.... for the last 2 years I've served chicken wings...dry garlic ribs... a fun garlic type of bread loaf.... vegies and dip.....SO.... just trying to come up with a plan so I can go and shop tomorrow....

What to serve? Any easy fun suggestions? We don't eat sweets..... and I prefer most of the food to be made from scratch rather than packaged....

    1. I think I'll serve some of those little mini quiche ....
    2.
    3.
    4.

Look forward to hearing your suggestions.... I did search here for Super Bowl Recipes but didn't come up with many from the past.

    Here is my favourite:

2 pkg Pillsbury Cresc Roll Dough
1 pkg 250 gram (8 oz) cream cheese
    2/3 cup Miracle Whip (mayo)
    1 tsp dill weed
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 cup shredded carrots
1 1/2 cup finely chopped cauliflower
    1 cup finely chopped broccoli
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
1 1/2 to 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Spread out dough on cookie sheet. Bake according to directions on pkg. Cool completely. Beat together cream cheese, Miracle Whip, dill weed & garlic powder until smooth. Spread on cooled crust. Sprinkle veggies evenly on top. Top with cheddar. Cover with saran wrap and refrigerate overnight. Cut in small squares.

    Enjoy!

We always make water chestnuts wrapped in bacon with the ketchup/sugar sauce. Usually we also have shrimp cocktail, queso with chips, and dill dip with veggies. Those are our standards!

Isn't it fun to see what others consider a great time! MY DH does not like chestnuts but I love them.... so... we will see...

I will probably head to Bruce's Country Market in our neck of the woods for lots of smoked salmon yummies to combine with the usuals.... http://bruces.ca/

Thanks.... every time our little bowling group has a wine and dine.... one person always brings the shrimp ring (usually still half frozen) from Costco.... Not my favourite... I hope that a group of friends can bring a from scratch yummy that shows that they care enough about each other to make an effort... JMHO

Quick and easy...take whole fresh jalapenos, slice them open lengthwise, scoop out the seeds and membranes. Stuff peppers with cream cheese and top with crisp fried bacon that has been crumbled.

Another idea that's so easy is to place a whole block of cream cheese on a plate, cover it generously with Japapeno jelly and serve with crackers.

Baked brie? Hot artichoke dip? Nachos with cocktail sauce, crabmeat, green onions and mozzarella cheese? Stuffed mushrooms? Potato skins with melted butter, onions, cheese and sour cream.....

    I think I better have a party!
