That's actually pretty nice. Not a bad use for something that usually gets tossed.

If that were here I'd have already bought it. 10 years ago when I bought my current house I gave away a couple really nice corner wall mount curio cabinets because my trailer has trim down the wall in every corner so the cabinets wouldn't fit against the walls. There will be no corner trim in my new house.

Neat idea with the spools. I've got quite a collection of wooden ones. I could do something like that. However I think I'll use screw rods and make it so it could be taken apart and the spools removed. I'm trying to come up with ways to "use/display" more of my vintage stuff.

I thought I saw old square nuts at the top of the spindles. I think that's how that one was put together.

    Name that attachment

    http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/art/5382637970.html

This poster does not know what they are (and neither do i), but they look more like hinges than attachments.

Ken, I think you are correct. The fact they are stamped L and R is a clue!

Though maybe the seller thinks sewing machines have two feet like people, so would need "shoes" for both the left and right foot.

Speaking of spool furniture. When I was stationed in Germany in the 70's I found these. They are wood grained and very old. I have a table and matching shelf and a square shelf unit. This type of tramp art has been around a long time in Germany. Excuse the mess but we are painting the rest of the house.
