Default News flash-Riccar to replace Spartan!

No not politicians, sewing machines. Well it had to happen sooner or later. The 2 Spartans will be replaced by the new(old) Riccar. While I love the Spartans over my 221, the drop dogs and more powerful motor makes it the better choice for me. I want to give FMQ a try and dealing with multiple layers going in every direction I think the Riccar with it's high shank would give me a better chance of success. Opinions from seasoned FMQers welcome.

    Thanks

The Spartans are 3/4 size machines and the Riccar is full size, right? If so, then definitely the Riccar is the way to go. Throat space makes a huge difference for FMQ and I can't see using anything less than a full sized machine. I don't think high vs. low shank feet makes a huge difference.
